One of my co-workers just sent me a link to the just released Zimbra Connector for Evolution.
To explain a little about this: Zimbra is a collaboration suite that includes Email and shareable calenders and address books and an available online web client. It is similar in function to Microsoft Exchange. Evolution is an advanced Email client for the Gnome desktop in Linux that includes its own calenders and address books; it is similar to Microsoft Outlook. Evolution also had support to connect to Exchange, but it didn't have the right plugin to work with Zimbra, until now.
The bigger reason that this is fairly big news to me is that my company uses Zimbra and I run Linux on my development platform, so it is to my advantage to stick with an open-source solution like Evolution. With this, hopefully, I'll be able to manage my calendering and address book directly from Evolution.
I'll have to see about playing with this tomorrow!
