Barack Obama, President-Elect of the United States of America

My hat's off to you, Mr. Barack Obama, for your win for the 2008 Election for the President of the United States of AmericaOf course, not all the electoral votes are in at this point, but it's largely a formality now.. I hope you run our U.S. Executive office as well as you've run your campaign. I will be right in the line to complain if you don'tEspecially since I did vote for you!.

U.S. Election day 2008

Just a message from the humble host of this not very popular website:

If you are a U.S. citizen and haven't voted yet, please do so today. It doesn't matter if you don't like either of the top two choices; if you absolutely refuse to vote for either of them, vote for the third party that best matches your views. Yeah, it's "wasting your vote" as some people say it, but it's the best way we, as U.S. citizens, can say we have "no confidence" in the standard two choices in this rather restricting two-party system that dominates U.S. politics. Not voting doesn't hold that same message.

For those of you that are either not U.S. citizens or have voted earlylike I did, have a good November 4th, 2008.

And for those you are U.S. citizens, no matter who is elected, feel free to fully criticize his actions in officeEven if he was your choice to begin with.. That is the American way.

Who would Azeroth Choose?

If the U.S. Presidential elections were held in World of Warcraft, who would win? A "study" of how players in this MMO see the Republican and Democratic choices for president:

Thoughts on Lafayette's (and my) Future

As a mix-raceMy mother is Indonesian, my father is Cajun nerd growing up in South LouisianaAt least since the age of 8. Since the time I was born in Medan, Indonesia, I've lived in Indonesia, Singapore, London, Nigeria, and Canada before my family settled down in Lafayette., I never had really cared or gave much thought to things like politics or long term plans for my future even through college. I did manage to find a position in a company in New Iberia immediately after college and started a personal Roth IRA account to build a retirement fund,

Money as Debt

Interesting cartoon that does some explanation of how the money system works. It does, though, seem to imply that there's a grand conspiracy by banks and governments, and only time will tell if the theory that the expanding debt will eventually result in a collapse is true.

This article seems to try to address myths and unknowns of the banks and federal monetary system, some of which might be in the video. I'll have to read more on this before I really solidify my own thoughts on it all.

Stuff that would get my blood boiling

I know I have temper issues. But this comment on Balloon Juice really got my blood boiling (Emphasis, mine):

No Rome, it’s not just you who hates Christianity, it’s most of the left. You’re in good company. Louder now freaks, I can’t hear you!

I'll argue with just about any extreme "leftist", but if I had heard this statement within earshot, my first inclination would be to send a fist into the speaker's jaw for such an asinine statement. I may not agree with them, but I know this is far from the truth about the type of people who make up the "left".

I know it shouldn't bother me, especially since this commenter is probably just a troll on that blog. But it's his presence there does more damage to the "right"'s image than anything anybody from the opposite spectrum can do. Which makes me think that he's a spoof at times.
