Upgrading to Drupal 7

Finally made the plunge and upgraded this and my anime blog to Drupal 7, skipping 6 in the process. It's been running Drupal 5 for way too long and an upgrade was long overdue.

Hopefully, I have some time to fix the now-broken [img_assist...] tags in the old entries. Too bad there was no upgrade path for that feature.

Go Daddy DNS issues?

It seemed Go Daddy was having some DNS problems earlier, which prevented any of my sites from resolving correctly. It also affected a few friend's sites that I know are hosted on Go Daddy for some time. In any case, I logged into the Go Daddy site and checked up on my domains. When I reset the hosted nameservers, it seemed to have changed to new servers. Waited an hour or so, and my sites are back up again.

New modules activated

I've complained in the past that the web-links package wasn't available yet in Drupal 5.1; well, as of February 16, 2007, a web-links module was released for Drupal 5.1. I have just replaced my hand-made version of the Blog Rolls with this one. One of my biggest annoyance about the latest version of Drupal has been relieved! Yay!

Links added!

More bitching! Yay!

This time, its about the lack of a web-links package that can create blocks for Drupal 5! Ok, so this not a problem with Drupal at all; I'm just annoyed.

Well, I've simply created a couple of blocks containing the links I want to add in an unordered list. Later on, I might see if I can use the API from the Links Package to organize links.

New Personal Site Up!

Well, I got the basics of a personal site up right now. I wished to splinter off my anime weblog from the rest of the topics I might talk about. If you wished to access my anime weblog, please change your links to http://anime.nickistre.net instead.

Thanks,
Nick
